The Rubber Board has invited applications from rubber growers for assistance for replanting and new planting under the Rubber Plantation Development Scheme. Applications should reach the respective Regional Offices of the Board on or before December 31, 2010. Application forms and other details are available from all Regional Offices and Field Offices of the Board. The application forms also can be downloaded from the Rubber Board’s website www.rubberboard.org.
Plantation insurance cover doubled: Meanwhile, the Rubber Board has doubled the insurance cover for rubber plantations raised from Rs. 125,000 to Rs 250,000 per hectare.
Rubber prices via SMS service: In a bid to disseminate price information via mobile phones, the Rubber Board has introduced a subscription-based service for providing details of daily rubber prices through mobile phone messages.
This service is available for subscribers who register with the Board by paying an annual subscription of Rs 300.
