Kerala Minister of Co-operation and Devasam Board Kadakampally Surendran has inaugurated the commercial production of second dipping line of Rubek Balloons Private Limited at Irapuram in Ernakulam, Kerala. Rubek Balloons is a unit promoted by the Kerala State Co-operative Rubber Marketing Federation and Strategic Products Malaysia. The company incorporated in the year 2002 and started commercial production in 2006. Rubek manufacturing premium quality toy balloons which are accepted globally and these balloons are very competitive in the markets of Japan and other European countries.

The company was awarded commendation certificate for energy conservation efforts in 2013. Rubek bagged Kerala State Energy Conservation award in the year 2014. Rubek Balloons is the first biggest producer of automated rubber balloon manufacturing company in India and have a production capacity of 80 million balloons per month. The company is an ISO certified company and these balloons are satisfying EN71, CE certification etc. The company employs about 200 persons in the factory and more than Ten Thousand people are benefitted with these balloons used for decoration, event management, sale etc. in India and abroad.
Rubek Balloon’s management rests with its Board of Directors nominated by the Kerala state Co-operative Rubber Marketing Federation (Rubber Mark). Mathew Kulathumkal is its Chairman and Managing director who is the President of Rubber Mark.
RUBEK BALLOONS maintains a strict vigil on the quality of inputs being used in Production. The raw materials purchased are of ISO standards and test certificates are insisted upon wherever necessary. The company has a well-equipped Quality Assurance Laboratory where samples of raw materials are periodically checked. Samples are also tested in the Rubber Board Laboratory periodically. The finished product is subjected to a rigorous sorting process to ensure that the balloons dispatched are free from any kind of even minor defects.
RUBEK BALLOONS is adding a remarkable pace in the consumption of natural rubber in Kerala. RUBEK will be consuming around 2.4 million DRC (Kg) of concentrated natural rubber latex per annum. RUBEK is the third-largest consumer of concentrated rubber latex in India.

In the last financial year, Rubek Balloons produced about 400 million balloons and the target assured for the coming year is 1000 million balloon production.
