Birla Carbon and CHASM Advanced Materials have entered into a Joint Development Agreement for novel nanomaterials to benefit various market segments including high-performance tyres, novel coatings and next-generation batteries. Following this, the two companies will share research and engineering resources to develop and manufacture hybrid nanomaterials based on carbon substrates and carbon nanotubes. These hybrid nanomaterials will combine CHASM’s nanotube enhanced carbon (NTeC) technology with Birla Carbon’s expertise in commercialization and manufacturing.

Dr. Santrupt B. Misra, Chief Executive Officer, Birla Carbon, Director, Chemicals and Director, Group Human Resources, Aditya Birla Group said, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with CHASM Advanced Materials. The combination of CHASM’s expertise in nanotube enhancement and our deep knowledge of carbon substrates and applications offers us the chance to rapidly advance our understanding of these high-performance, scalable nanomaterials.”

David Arthur, CHASM, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, said, “As one of the world’s leading producers of engineered nanomaterials, CHASM looks forward to collaborating with Birla Carbon, who offer us faster access to customers and markets. Their experience with large-scale manufacturing of engineered nanomaterials is outstanding”,
